What you are buying
Who's Paying sells a subscription, and separately credit packs and top-up credits bought outright.
Scanning is free. Enter an Instagram handle, then sign in to save and use your report. No payment or credit is needed to scan. On your own report your best-fit brand with a contact on file is open free; you choose which further brands to unlock for ten credits each. Credits are deducted only when you confirm an unlock, a premium media kit or a stats refresh and, for a brand with nobody on file yet, only once we have found someone to write to.
What you pay for is credits, and credits do three things: unlock a brand, buy a premium media kit for one Instagram handle, or pay for a media kit stats refresh. Ten credits unlock one brand. A premium media kit and a stats refresh cost ten credits each. An unlock is permanent — a brand you unlocked stays unlocked on your account, including when that brand comes back in a later scan, and you are never charged for it twice.
A subscription grants a fixed allowance at the start of each cycle: 250 credits on the monthly plan, 750 on the three-month plan. There are two prices for each plan — a founder price, held by the first 100 paying creators for as long as their subscription stays active, and a standard price after that.
Prices are shown in Indian rupees on the checkout page before you pay, and that page is the authoritative price. 18% GST is added to every price, and the GST-inclusive figure is the amount actually charged to you. Abscissa AI LLP's GSTIN is 07ACMFA2280L1Z5, and a tax invoice is issued for every charge.
This is a digital service. Nothing is shipped; see Service Delivery.
You are paying for brands to be unlocked and shown to you. You are not paying for an outcome. As set out in the Terms of Use, no brand deal, reply, income or match count is promised, and the rates are estimates, not quotes.
Subscription credits expire at the end of the cycle
This is the term most likely to cost you money, so it comes first rather than last.
Credits granted by a subscription expire at the end of the cycle that granted them. A monthly cycle's 250 credits die when that month ends; a three-month cycle's 750 credits die when that quarter ends. They do not roll over, they do not accumulate, and an expired credit is not refunded and not restored. Use them or lose them.
The next cycle grants a fresh allowance. It replaces the old one; it does not add to it.
Expiry does not touch:
- Brands you already unlocked. An unlock is permanent. Expiry takes back unspent credits, never a brand you spent them on.
- Credits you bought as a credit pack or a top-up — those never expire.
- Credits from a coupon or a referral — those never expire either.
When you unlock something we always spend the credits that die soonest first, so this cycle's allowance is used before anything that would have kept.
You can see what you hold, and when each part of it expires, on your account.
Auto-renewal, and how to cancel
A subscription renews automatically and charges you again until you cancel it. You are agreeing to a recurring charge, not a single one, and we say so on the checkout page before the pay button rather than only here.
| What is charged | The plan price you subscribed at, plus 18% GST — the same GST-inclusive amount every time |
| How often | Every month on the monthly plan; every three months on the three-month plan, on the same date of the cycle you first subscribed |
| How it is taken | By a UPI Autopay mandate or a card mandate you approve at checkout, through Razorpay. We never hold your card details |
| What each renewal grants | A fresh allowance — 250 credits monthly, 750 quarterly — which expires at the end of that cycle |
| The price you hold | If you subscribed at the founder price, you keep it for as long as the subscription stays active. Cancel and come back later and you subscribe at whatever price is current then |
You can cancel at any time. Email raghav@ostryaai.com from the address on your account and say you want to cancel. We act on it, stop the mandate and confirm in writing. You can also revoke the mandate yourself in your bank or UPI app, which stops the charge at the payment end.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date so the mandate is stopped in time. If a charge goes out after we had your cancellation, that one is on us and we refund it in full — see below.
What cancelling does, precisely:
- Cancelling stops the next charge. That is the whole of it.
- It does not refund the cycle you are already in, and it does not end that cycle early. You keep the credits until they expire at the end of it.
- It does not take away brands you unlocked. Those stay unlocked, permanently, whether or not you are still subscribed.
Credit packs, top-ups, coupons and referrals do not expire
Credit packs are a fixed number of credits for one GST-inclusive price, shown on the checkout page before you pay. You do not need a subscription to buy one. Pack credits never expire. A pack is a one-off purchase: there is no mandate on it, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
Top-up credits are bought outright and never expire. They are sold at a fixed price per credit, with a minimum of 10 credits in one purchase — ten credits being exactly one brand unlock. The per-credit price, the GST and the total are shown at checkout before you pay.
A top-up is a one-off purchase. There is no mandate on it, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
Credits from a coupon or a referral never expire either, and neither does anything support puts on your account to put a problem right.
So the rule is short: credits granted by a subscription expire with the cycle; credits you bought or were given do not.
What we do not refund
Better said before you subscribe than after.
- A cycle you did not use. The allowance was granted and was yours to spend. Not spending it is not a fault in the service.
- Credits that expired unspent. The expiry is stated here, on the checkout page, and in the Terms of Use before you pay.
- A change of mind. Deciding you no longer want it cancels the next charge; it does not undo the one already taken.
- The cycle you are in when you cancel. Cancelling looks forward. You have already had that cycle's credits.
- Credits already spent on an unlock. The brand is open, permanently. That credit did its job.
- Credits spent on a premium media kit or a finished stats refresh. The templates stay yours for that handle; the refresh did its job.
- A brand that never replied. We never promise a reply, a deal or any income. That is the whole basis on which the service is sold.
- A report you disagree with. The rate card is an indicative band, not a valuation, and it is described that way before you buy.
- A scan that honestly returned few brands, where the public data did not support more. Fewer matches is a real answer, not a defect — and the scan itself cost you nothing.
We will still read a request that falls outside this list. If something went wrong that we did not anticipate, write to us and say what happened.
What we do refund
Short, and real. In each of these you do not have to argue for it.
- A duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same cycle, or twice for the same credit pack or top-up. We refund the extra charge in full.
- A charge taken after you cancelled. If a mandate fired after we had your cancellation, stopping it was our job and we did not do it. We refund that charge in full.
- A period in which the service did not work. If Who's Paying was unusable for a material part of a cycle you had paid for — scans failing, unlocks not opening, reports not loading — we refund that cycle, or the part of it you lost, whichever fits what actually happened.
- A stats refresh that failed. If a refresh you paid for fails and does not finish, its ten credits come back to your account automatically, once. Your media kit keeps its previous numbers.
In the first two we also remove the credits that charge granted, where they are still unspent. Brands you unlocked stay unlocked.
There is one more case, which is really a delivery fault rather than a refund question: you paid and nothing arrived — the money left your account and no subscription, no allowance and no top-up appeared. Write to us and we will either grant what you paid for or return the money, whichever you would rather have.
How to ask for a refund
Email raghav@ostryaai.com with:
- the payment reference or order ID from your receipt;
- the email address on your Who's Paying account;
- which charge you mean — its date and amount; and
- one line on what went wrong.
Then:
| Step | Timeline |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your request | Within 48 hours |
| We decide and tell you the outcome | Within 7 working days of receiving the request |
| Approved refund is returned to your original payment method | 5–7 working days after approval |
Refunds always go back to the original payment method, through Razorpay, our payment processor. We cannot redirect one to a different card, account or person. The last leg of the timing sits with Razorpay and your bank, so the money can appear in your statement a little after we release it.
If we decline, we will tell you why in writing. If you disagree, raise it as a grievance below — you keep every right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
Closing your account
Ask us and we will close it. Closing an account cancels the subscription, so no further charge is taken. The cycle already paid for is not refunded, under the rules above, and any credits left on the account lapse with it.
Closing an account is not the same as erasing your data — see Data Removal for that, and note that erasure is carried out by hand by an operator. Nor is asking for erasure the same as cancelling: if a mandate is live, tell us to cancel it too, in the same email.
